Peter Larsen, Ph.D.
Founder and Principal
Peter Larsen is the founder of Lone Mountain Economics LLC. Dr. Larsen has over 25 years of experience as an economist with positions that have spanned both the public and private sector. He is an expert in natural resource economics with a focus on long-term energy sector planning; econometric analysis; statistical programming; and organizational management. He routinely engages with U.S. policymakers, utility executives, academia, and consultants. Dr. Larsen holds a Ph.D. and M.S. degree from Stanford University (Management Science and Engineering), an M.S. from Cornell University (Natural Resource Economics), and a B.A. from the University of Montana-Missoula (Economics). He enjoys hunting, fishing, skiing, and golf; and exploring Montana with his family and friends.
Outside of his consulting practice, Dr. Larsen is leader of the Energy Markets and Policy Department and Deputy for Research in the Energy Analysis and Environmental Impacts Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.
